Class of ’64 rowing down memory lane

The 1964 quad crew had a successful season in their matric year and from time to time they have gathered for a row – the last time was 2017. As this was the 60th anniversary of their matric year they decided to go out on the water again last Saturday – reunion day.

Jeppe rowing MIC, Lebohang Mashigo, organised a boat, and a cox, and three of them – sadly, one of the 1964 crew, Warwick Silverthorne, is no longer able to row – Nick Dennis, Terry Marsh, Jopie Van Honschooten, and Jopie’s son, Gareth, who rowed 1st 8 in 2003 and 2004, took a trip down the racing (and memory) lane at VLC on Saturday morning before going back to watch the 1st rugby game.

Lebohang Mashigo was there, supporting them. Thanks go to him and to Lethabo Mtongana, who steered the boat.
