Our director of Hockey, Mr Bryan Hillock, has been elected the Executive Chairman of the Southern Gauteng Schools Hockey Association. It’s an over-arching role, he explains, there are chairpersons of high school boys, high school girls and primary schools that will report to him.

“My role, as I see it, is to drive the strategy, plan ahead and find sponsorships,” he said. “The Covid interruption disrupted our long term planning, and my first aim is to get that back on track and to put structures in place that will align the three sections more closely,” he said.

Then, he believes, there is a responsibility to grow the game, so it will be his responsibility to work with schools where hockey is struggling.

“I’m looking forward to the new challenges,” he said.
