Grade 11 Leadership Workshop

The Grade 11s attended a two-day leadership workshop over the weekend at which the role and responsibilities of learner-leaders in the school – school and house prefects etc – were discussed.

The programme featured guest speakers and presentations from the current prefects and some staff members were made.

Mr Gary Galolo, a principal investment banker at Nedbank, was one of the guest speakers. He is a former Head Prefect of Rondebosch Boys’ High School, who worked for Goldman-Sachs in New York and London, followed by a permanent position at their London Branch. He returned to SA, working at Standard Bank and Liberty, before joining Nedbank.

Mr Rob Katzen, the chairman of the Jeppe Boys Association, also addressed the boys. He has been an outstanding servant-leader and shown excellent strength and commitment to his role and his overall contribution to the school. He is a very successful businessman and he shared some of his experience.

The headmaster, Mr Jackson, explained what his expectations and that of the staff are of the leaders of the school.
