Christephor Elston was in the South African U17 Indoor Cricket team that came third at the Junior World Cup in Dubai in the holidays.

He was ranked 14th out of the 102 boys that played on his individual performances, although he broke his wrist in the pool game against Australia and could not compete further.

“It was a great experience,” he said. “We got to do some sightseeing in Dubai and I made a lot of friends, including with some South Africans who had emigrated to New Zealand and were playing for them.

Chris is a regular in the Jeppe 1st cricket team and he will be giving the indoor game a break now to play outdoor cricket and to concentrate on matric next year.
