The Wildlife Club went to Marakele National Park in Limpopo for three busy, fun-filled days during the holidays.
Among other things, they listened to Jeppe old boy Michael Goncalves, a qualified field guide, who told them about safety precautions while walking in the bush, and then accompanied them on a guided walk organised by the Thutong Environmental Centre.
The group then built their own fires and made a chicken potjie for dinner.
The next day they went on a game drive where there were sightings on buffalo, rhino, impala and Kudu, followed by a quiz that night, won by Ciaran Habig, Kyle Downer, Jonathan Clarke, Cayden Abraham, Emile Prithilal and Andrew Adair.
All agreed that it was great weekend. There was much learnt and a lot of fun was had.
Thanks to Mr and Mrs Clark, Mr Keogh, Mrs Horn, Mr Ramutle and Michael Goncalves for accompanying the boys.
