Three wins out of four for the 1st XI at Grey High

The 1st Cricket team are on their way home with three wins out of four at the Grey High School Festival in Gqberha over the last week. They beat Grey High by 32 runs on Sunday after defeating Selborne College and Framesby earlier. The only loss was to to St Andrew’s Bloemfontein by 4 runs in a rain-shortened game on day one.

Muneeb Ayob contributed 73 to Jeppe’s 219 against Grey, with Ryan Young (56) and Christopher Elston (26) also weighing in. Grey were then bowled out for 187, with Luke Canon (3/24) doing the damage.

Ayob’s 73 took his total to 168 runs over the four games. He was named Jeppe’s player of the tour and was presented with a plaque by Gregory Hay, a Jeppe old boy living in Gqberha.
