The 1st cricket team got their pre-season visit to Bloemfontein for the Grey College Festival off to a great start with a 10 wicket win over St Andrew’s School on Wednesday and Thursday.

It was a two-day ‘time’ cricket game and Jeppe dismissed St Andrew’s for 145 in their 1st innings, with Reza Ayob taking 3/26. In reply, Ryan Young demolished the S Andrew’s bowling, making 164 not out. He faced 164 balls and struck 14 fours and eight sixes. Jeppe declared on 304/5.

St Andrew’s were then removed for 184 in their second knock, with Reza Ayob taking 4/48. That meant seven wickets in the game for him, and he was named Man of the Match.

St Andrew’s lead was just 25 runs and Jeppe had no trouble knocking that off without losing a wicket.

Jeppe face Selborne in a 50-over game on Saturday, and Grey High School in a T20 on Sunday.
