“I matriculated from Jeppe High School for Boys in 1989. It has also been a privilege to have my four sons obtain their secondary education at Jeppe High School for Boys. Unfortunately, 2025 will be my last year as a Jeppe parent as my youngest son matriculates at the end of the year.

Two institutions have influenced and shaped the lives of my sons and I, one being Brackenhurst Baptist Church and the other being Jeppe High School for Boys. It was at Jeppe where the values of respect, discipline, hard work and competitiveness were ingrained in me. Through the tutelage of Mr Silburn at Jeppe, I was inspired to study accountancy and commerce qualifying as an accountant in 1995. I also pursued 2 further years of study in the property field, an industry I found myself for the past 25 years. Currently I’m employed as an asset manager of retail property fund which is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

My real passion in life is building into and building up the lives of others. A lot of this work has been done through Brackenhurst Baptist Church where I head up the children’s ministry and at Jeppe High School for Boys. I have had the honour of serving on the Jeppe SGB where I have held the position of Treasurer for the past two years and I served as the chairperson of the Rugby Patrons Association for five years until the end of 2024. My objective on serving in these capacities has always been to make Jeppe High School for Boys a better place than it was than “yesterday” and bettering the lives of Jeppe Boys – hopefully also for some grandsons in the future as well.

As I vacate my role as a Jeppe parent in 2026 I look forward to continuing serving and supporting Jeppe where ever the need arises to raise up future generations of young men to take our school, society and country forward. Soli Deo Gloria.”
