Raees Hassen is a Jeppe success story. He received the news last Friday that he has been accepted at Wits University to study medicine, on the basis of the seven distinctions and “A” aggregate that he achieved in the 2023 matric exams.
Raees lost his parents early in his high school career. The school helped him to apply for an Investec Bursary and, with his fees taken care of, he became part of the Theo Jackson Scholarship Fund group. “They became my family, and Jeppe became a second home for me,” he said. “I would never be where I am now if it were not for the support I got.”
Raees is an inspirational individual who fully deserves the success he has achieved. We wish him well. He will be a very good doctor one day.
